We are hiring for a Desk Top Publisher (DTP) to join a leading translation & languages services agency that specialises in the business sectors of life sciences, clinical trials, medical and related technology.

100%, fully remote working. Must be UK based . Office work base option too (Oxfordshire) if required
Job responsibilities of the Desk Top Publisher
To join their international department, they wish to recruit a Desk Top Publisher. You will be working as part of a friendly team that work on large and complex translation projects. The role will mostly be to manage project typesetting / reformatting of foreign language manuals, product marketing materials and other project collateral including proofreading translated / localised layouts.
Your role will typically include the following duties and responsibilities:
- Revision and proofreading of multilingual layouts to ensure quality and accuracy prior to client delivery
- Typesetting / reformatting of foreign language manuals, product marketing materials and other project collateral
- Deliver high quality layout
- Achieve deadlines agreed with Operations Team
- Liaise with Project Management Team
- Provide support and assistance to senior members of the DTP team
The successful candidate background
- Fluent English is essential. Knowledge of a foreign language, especially Asian or right-to-left languages, an advantage
- Previous desk top publishing experience in an advantage but not essential
- Comfortable working as part of a team and collaborating with other team members and departments across all job processes
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of Windows and Adobe CC applications
- Ideally with experience in typesetting in Word and Adobe InDesign
- Skills in tools such as QuarkXpress, FrameMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator and Video editing would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Must be flexible and adaptable enough to be able to work in a variety of roles in a rapidly changing environment.
The role could suit maybe either a junior desktop publisher or desktop publisher or a languages graduates with some InDesign knowledge or work experience and looking for a DTP position in the translation and language sector
Salary, benefits and working hours
23,000 - 28,000.
