They are seeking a Marketing & Communication Manager, responsible for leading the communication and marketing strategy with the strategic objective of deepening client relationships and achieving business goals and growth ambitions.
Your Business Unit:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will manage a small team to develop and implement the corporate communication and marketing strategy. You will manage key senior stakeholder relationships, including the country's CEO and executive leadership team, and have a matrix reporting line to the Head of Marketing & Communication, APAC, based in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for supporting the company in achieving its business strategy through managing and promoting the brand and marketing presence on the African continent, as well as supporting the people strategy and enabling employee engagement through compelling digital content, campaigns, thought leadership, and the delivery of impactful messaging, with the following deliverables:
- Define and develop the marketing and communication strategy, plan, and activities in alignment with the company’s business objectives and growth ambition .
- Interpret business needs, consulting business unit leaders and client management heads, and advise on and propose the most effective communication tactics to meet specific objectives.
- Lead marketing projects and coordinate (internal and external) resources to deliver high quality, innovative marketing solutions on-time and within budget.
- Develop marketing materials such as brochures, newsletters, advertisements, videos, presentations and digital content targeted to clients and prospects.
- Manage and coordinate event strategies to raise visibility of the business teams and help them spend quality time with clients and industry partners.
- Collaborate with marketing experts in Asia Pacific to create and manage digital campaigns and analytics to effectively convey core messages.
- Lead internal communication in a purposeful and integrated manner through partnering with business on various initiatives, which include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Supporting the senior leadership team communication (assist crafting messaging for updates, town hall presentations, speeches, videos, etc)
- Design internal events (virtual, face to face and hybrid) that enhance the engagement of employees, position leaders, meet business needs and enable successful change.
- Sharing of successes through the appropriate internal channels (MR Web, town hall meetings, Yammer etc)
- Collaborate with regional Communications teams to ensure that strategic Group messages are embedded in South Africa.
- Ensure that communication and marketing initiatives, promotions, and activities are tracked and measured to determine their ROI and success.
In addition, you will work closely with the Senior Communications & PR Manager, Asia Pacific to support the Group media relations agenda in South Africa by helping to shape a narrative for media work, including enhancing the profiles of senior executives.
About you:
- 8 to 10 years of experience in marketing and communication roles, with 3 to 5 years of experience in a management role
- Degree holder in Communication or equivalent qualification
- Experience in marketing and communication in the financial services sector, with experience working for a multinational as an added advantage
- Excellent writing skills and project management
- Detail oriented with the ability to connect the dots
- Ability to work independently, with senior stakeholders across a matrixed structure
- Leadership abilities, more notably the ability to motivate and inspire excellence and to lead with empathy.
