We have a terrific, on-site opportunity for a ‘Digital-first,’ mid-weight Digital Account Director at a hot, full-service creative agency in Cape Town.
As the Digital Account Director, you will play a pivotal role in running some of the agency’s biggest digitally led accounts, ensuring seamless execution of client campaigns, and maintaining crucial relationships with clients, partners, and studio.
You will lead teams and be integral in the management for large campaigns from inception to go-live, including communication strategy planning. You will work hand-in-hand with media teams, strategy and creatives as these campaigns are sold into the business. You will also be responsible for managing the budget, timeline, and resources for each campaign.
You will report into the BUD/Operations Head (client dependant), and work closely with Finance, Traffic, Creatives, and other departments to ensure top quality work is delivered on time and correctly, according to the high standards that the agency strives towards. Responsibilities
Thinking digital first, lead the development of digitally lead advertising campaigns that can stretch through-the-line Juggling multiple chase-list outputs due at different times to form a greater campaign plan. Understand messaging and role of channels to be able to back the work and the briefs Develop and execute plans, campaigns, and projects to achieve growth goals while maintaining awareness and controlling situations that may put the agency at risk Manage junior team members so that they learn and are empowered to run their own projects under your leadership. Support knowledge transfer, sharing, and upskilling through relevant & appropriate learning/teaching channels Client relationship lead: Lead status meetings and prepare documentation, pulling in partners, as necessary Analyse performance results with media agency and brief in improvements based on learnings, with constant optimisation of the work Campaign tracking and deadline management for approvals, ensure you are always running ahead of deadlines and always being proactive Stay up to date on the latest digital marketing trends and technologies Financial management and control Tracking time and efficiencies/profit on jobs – Ensure the profitability of accounts by managing financial administration and tracking work executed against the scope of work Ensure CEs are created as necessary for project-based clients Collaborate closely with creative, account management, production, and finance teams to ensure seamless delivery and consistent experience for clients Work closely with a leading strategic team to maintain a proactive approach towards the management of the account. Drive success for clients by bringing together the right people and solving problems quickly Ensure the work works and always meets or exceed expectations.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
Industry relevant tertiary qualification ±4-5 years’ experience A high level of executional detail and ability to manage multiple moving parts at one time A strong ability to prioritise tasks internally and externally Known for writing brilliant creative briefs which unlock opportunities to create award winning work Continuously ensures that there is consistent brand alignment in all the work produced Clients trust you to provide solutions to their challenges, and get the job done brilliantly every time Able to lead projects; take briefs; and manage the day to day without senior involvement, developing plans and ensuring they are adhered to Able to foster trusted relationships with your creative, strategy and production teams and are able to conduct creative meetings and assess and push the work against the clarity of a well written brief 100% on top of all billings and ensure that flawless financials are maintained on your accounts Confidently able to do first drafts of fee proposals and have a clear understanding of how the agency makes money Able to actively shape an environment where great creative work is made.
