Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer or Engineering Technician/Technologist to join their dynamic team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of post-registration experience and a keen interest in progressing towards a programme manager or project leader role. Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems and solutions for various construction support projects. Provide technical support and expertise during the planning, design, and execution phases of projects. Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other construction elements. Prepare detailed engineering reports, proposals, and documentation. Assist in project management tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in mechanical engineering practices within the company. Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians. Engage in professional development and training to stay updated with industry advancements and trends. Work towards taking on programme manager or project leader responsibilities as part of career development.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer or Engineering Technician/Technologist. Minimum of 3 years of post-registration experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the construction support services sector. Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis software. Strong understanding of construction processes and standards. Knowledge of relevant industry codes and regulations. Demonstrated experience in project planning, execution, and management. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
