Role purpose
The Head of Sustainability will set and embed the group strategy.
What will you be doing?
- Establishing our sustainability strategy, prioritising the work and initiatives we will undertake to achieve it and putting in place metrics and a reporting framework to monitor our success in delivering it.
- Communicating our strategy on sustainability and acting as a point of contact for questions and advice around our position.
- Co-ordinating our sustainability work across the organisation.
- Leading on an internal programme of work covering areas such as CSR, carbon footprint and use of resources.
- Line managing the CSR Coordinator and aligning the approach of the CSR Committee with our sustainability objectives.
- Working with Subject Matter Experts across sectors and functions to ensure that we are delivering.
- Representing our position on sustainability publicly.
- Working in partnership with external bodies who are working towards our sustainability objectives and with whom we can collaborate to have greater impact.
- Creating internal governance around sustainability including allocating responsibilities and establishing lines of reporting.
- Reporting on our progress on sustainability, including coordinating our internal monitoring of our initiatives and their impact against our sustainability objectives and our external sustainability reporting.
About you
Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- A passion for sustainability, with a flair for strategic thinking to embed sustainability into our strategy.
- The ability to act as an ambassador for sustainability and to be influential internally and with our important stakeholders such as members, media, partners.
- The ability to prioritise and coordinate work to operationalise the sustainability strategy.
- Outstanding communication skills to explain what the strategy is and why it is important.
- Collaboration skills to enact the sustainability strategy where the majority of the work and responsibilities are embedded within sectors and functions.
