Job DescriptionROLE PURPOSE
Management Accountant role with a balance of responsibilities that includes stakeholder engagement, commercial activity and technical reporting.
The job holder will have the management of the transactional finance function and a thorough knowledge base of each of the areas within the finance remit, including the P&L and balance sheet, with particular knowledge of month end reporting, AP, AR, banking, inventory and net working capital management.
This position is responsible for key accounting and reporting processes and for the provision of financial analysis and business analytics support to the commercial departments.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support members reporting into the Finance team, including AP, AR, Customer Services and Business Analysts
- Ensuring team awareness of all systems (local & group month end/ reporting tools, ERP etc), enabling them to record all transactions and payments in a timely appropriate manner
- Executing a strong working understanding, knowledge and ability in accounting, sales and distribution and reporting processes
- Month end duties including preparation and submission of management accounts
- Identifying data discrepancies between systems and resolving efficiently
- Build and maintain strong value add working relationship with key internal stakeholders
- Liaise with the key stakeholders (UKI Leadership Team) of these services on a regular basis to discuss progress against budgets and to aid their understanding of financial results
- Respond to information requests from both internal (Global, Regional and the local management team) and external customers (suppliers, auditors etc.)
- An additional resource for the Finance or CS function to be utilised in the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Treasury or Customer Service functions as business circumstances dictate
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- A Qualified accountant CIMA or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills
- A knowledge and aptitude in Excel based analysis and reporting.
- An interest in business processes and systems (SAP ERP is a core system running through the organisation)
- Ability to work in a fast paced, commercially focused environment
