The main functions of the job are: - Ensure that equipment is well maintained and in good working condition ensuring all electrical components are in optimal condition.
- Ensure that the building and facility is in a good state of repair.
- Weekly check all electrical components of the building such as lighting, electrical sockets, three phase sockets, wiring and cables etc.
- Weekly inspect equipment and facility to identify and resolve any operational or compliance issues.
- Maintain utilities e.g. compressed air, electricitity etc.
- Operate and maintain the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning System).
- Install and commission new machines as per protocol and test equipment before handover to owner.
- Training of operators as per the training plan.
- Ensure that diagnosis of breakdowns and equipment failures is performed efficiently including thorough fault finding.
- Ensure that equipment have been returned to operational state in the specified time.
- Perform monthly maintenance of key equipment as per Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
- Oversee contractors and service providers.
- Participate in validation of production processes and equipment.
- Lead and participate in Lean and Continuous Improvement activities and projects.
- Ensuring that activities are in accordance with cGMP, SOPs and health and safety requirements.
Requirements: - Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Chemical Operations NQF level 2 or 3 recommended
- Minimum 5 years in industrial electrical, Pannel wiring.
- Background in packing machine electrical management components (VFDs, Motors, Motor controllers, Sensors)
- Demonstrated experience of leading Lean and Continuous Improvement projects
- Experience in problem finding and solving.
- Knowledge and Implementation of Corrective Action
- Must be able to work shifts and overtime when necessary.
- Ability to work to deadlines and deal with pressure.
