Join Our Team as a Catering Assistant!
Location: Great Western Hospital
Hourly Rate: £12.71
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days out of 7, including weekends)
Duration: 3 Months with strong potential to extend.

As a Catering Assistant, you will play an essential role in providing safe and nutritious meals to our patients, staff, and visitors in a fast-paced and safety-focused environment.
What You'll Do:
As a Catering Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Food Preparation & Service:

Assist in preparing meals, snacks, and beverages.

Follow portion control and plating standards.

Pack, label, and store food safely, including allergen-sensitive and texture-modified diets.

Serve food while adhering to safety practices.
Shift Flexibility & Productivity:

Work a variety of shifts: 07:00-15:00, 11:00-19:00, or 12:00-20:00.

Maintain productivity during busy periods to ensure timely meal delivery.

About You:
We're looking for candidates who possess:
Essential:

Basic education (reading and writing skills).

Experience in a catering or food service environment.

Knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and allergen awareness.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and cold environments.
Desirable:

Experience in healthcare or care home catering.

Knowledge of hospital dietary requirements (e.g., IDDSI).

Strong record-keeping and communication skills.
