*Registered Veterinary Nurse (Supervisory Role) – Small Animal Hospital, Wiltshire*
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our well-equipped, successful small animal hospital in Wiltshire. You will be part of a dedicated team handling a large and varied caseload, offering an exciting environment to develop and utilise your nursing skills.
*Due to the supervisory nature of this position, a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience is essential.*
This is a full-time role of *40 hours per week*, worked across a mixture of *8am–5pm* and *10am–7pm* shifts. Weekend duties follow a *1-in-7 rotation*, covering an 8-hour shift on both Saturday and Sunday, with *Monday and Tuesday off in lieu*.
*About the Supervisory Role*
In this position, you will supervise and support the nursing team in the absence of the Lead Nurses, ensuring the smooth running of the department and maintaining excellent standards of patient care. Strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive leadership style are essential.
You will work closely with the Lead Nurse team, Senior Lead Nurses, and the Nursing Director, contributing to a collaborative, respectful, and well-structured management environment.
*Clinical Involvement & Development*
Our hospital values nurse involvement in all aspects of patient care. Your clinical opinion will be welcomed throughout the patient journey.
We actively support Schedule 3 procedures and provide *extensive internal and external CPD*, ensuring you feel confident and empowered as you develop your skillset.
With a generous CPD budget, we promote career development and hold regular in-house training sessions to share knowledge across the team. Additional CPD—such as Schedule 3 training or courses that directly benefit the practice—is fully funded.
*Our Culture & Support*
We are a *fiercely independent practice*, with Directors who work onsite and know every member of staff personally. With an RVN on the board, the nursing voice is always represented at a senior level.
Our accessible management structure includes team leads, team managers, and Directors, and you will receive *monthly 1:1 mentoring* to support your growth and wellbeing. Maintaining a healthy work–life balance is one of our highest priorities.
We are also proud to have:
* A dedicated *Wellbeing Team*, supporting mental health and workplace wellbeing
* An active *Social Committee*, organising events and activities to bring our team together
* A *Sustainability Committee*, helping us reduce our environmental impact and promote responsible practice
These groups help create a positive, supportive, and forward-thinking workplace where everyone’s voice is valued.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an RVN with supervisory ambitions to broaden their skills within a friendly, progressive hospital, while helping us deliver the highest standards of patient care.
