*Job Overview*
We are looking for a skilled Auto Mechanic to maintain private/fleet customers' vehicles, including light commercials. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing them, aiming to maximise reliability and functionality. We expect you to be well-versed in mechanical and electronic systems and to be a team player who can work cooperatively with colleagues.
*Responsibilities will include:*
* Inspecting vehicle engines, mechanics, electrical components, suspension etc. to diagnose issues.
* Operating and maintaining equipment and tools in the workshop.
* Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair or report.
* Conducting routine servicing and maintenance work to ensure vehicle functionality and longevity.
* MOT Inspector or, if willing, training to become one (Class 4 & 7/Class 3 Motorcycles).
* Carrying out any duties which help to maintain the running of Sandows Garage Ltd.
*Requirements*
* Experience as an Auto Mechanic/MOT Inspector or if you are not an MOT Inspector, a readiness to train to become one.
* Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical components on all types of vehicle, including light commercials.
* Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and methods.
* Ability to operate and maintain various workshop tools and heavy equipment.
* Willingness to observe all health and safety precautions to prevent accidents to yourself and others.
* You are physically fit and well to fulfil the role and tasks required of you.
*Desirable Skills*
* Knowledge and experience of air conditioning systems and certification.
